Code Year is about my struggle to finally understand how to program at a basic level through the year of 2012. I’m using CodeCademy’s weekly courses to ease myself into it. It seems pretty promising and a ton better than the deaf lady who was my main programming teacher in Community College, 10 years ago.

Ok I’m stuck at the end of the first course -’Getting Started with Programming’- I really like the layout and design of the whole site and the first few lessons were a breeze. I (think) I understand what a variable is, thanks to high school algebra. I even understand strings, substrings and “if” logic. What I completely lost on is the “while” and “for” loops. The hints aren’t very helpful either. What the site really needs is a forum so people can help each other out.
